Find The AuthenticationType Set In Active Directory

The below code will display the authentication type set in the active directory domain. I have seen requests from the application developers to induce SSL with active directory to protect their user credentials.

.Secure protects the credentials by using kerberos tickets. Infact .secure informs the ADSI to use SPNEGO. Below powershell code gives you the information about the Authentication Type

Code
$ADVar = new-object system.directoryservices.directoryentry
$ADSearch = new-object system.directoryservices.directorysearcher
$ADSearch.SearchRoot.AuthenticationType

Output
Secure”
